Activated carbon
What is it?
Activated carbon, also known as activated carbon, is a material consisting essentially of carbonaceous material with a porous structure.
Activated carbon is any carbon that has undergone a particular preparation and which, as a result, has a high degree of property to fix and retain certain molecules brought into contact with it. It is an amorphous structure composed mainly of carbon atoms, usually obtained after a step of carbonization of a precursor at high temperature.
An activated carbon generally has a large specific surface area that gives it a high adsorbent capacity. Adsorption is a surface phenomenon by which molecules attach themselves to the surface of the adsorbent through weak bonds.
How it is use?
The water is mixed with the activated carbon in a tank, once inside, the water is cleaned of all impurities such as chlorine and undesirable taste and odor factors. Once this is done, the water becomes drinkable and can therefore be used for various activities.
